Weekly report
1. I was left behind by theboyfriend again! last time Penang now Melaka. Apparently he got the timetable last minute and I so happen cannot tag along. Why I always cannot follow? I WANNA GO!!! Wanna see artistes, wanna eat nice food, wanna take photos, wanna be with him!!!
2. Avril Lavigne's concert has been cancelled!!!
KUALA LUMPUR: The Avril Lavigne concert in Stadium Merdeka, here, on Aug 29 has been cancelled.
Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage Minister Shafie Apdal said that the concert falls during the nation's independence period and was not a suitable time to hold such a concert.
There are a lot of events on Aug 29 and the Ministry does not want the independence and the near Ramadan month to be filled with such pop and rock culture, he said.
"As the Minister of Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage, we should be instilling good culture in the young but here we are allowing other parties to organise things," he said Wednesday after launching the IDeAS for enhancing Integrity book.
How do you define good culture? why pop and rock culture is bad? just because rockers dress "weirdly"? I would say that is attitude!!! So, Malaysians should only go to Philharmonic Orchestra is it? I like Avril Lavigne because she just got that attitude and SHE IS SEXY MEH? =_______=""""" What kind of stupid reasons are that? She, a big star conduct a concert in Malaysia, we should be happy and honoured! I doubt you all know who is she and listen to her songs =__="
oh ya as if by organizing history-writing contest and historical exhibitions will promote GOOD culture.KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 9 — Pas has demanded the government ban pop superstar Avril Lavigne from performing in the country, saying that it would insult the Merdeka freedom fighters.
Kuala Lumpur Pas Youth chief Kamaruzaman Mohamad said the government should instead hold patriotic and civilised concerts as well as organise history-writing contests and historical exhibitions in conjunction with the 51st anniversary of the country’s independence.
PETALING JAYA: Federal Territory PAS Youth has been slammed for calling for a ban on the upcoming concert by popular Canadian rocker Avril Lavigne, with Malaysian Artistes’ Association (Karyawan) describing the move as “ridiculous”.
Its president Freddie Fernandez criticised the move, saying: “This is the most ridiculous thing to do – to ask for a cancellation of such a decent performer like Avril Lavigne.
“Avril's music is very popular here. PAS Youth should never deprive Malaysians of the chance to watch the concert.”
haha yes! is ridiculous!!! You want to stay in your narrow-minded world, you go ahead. We want to enjoy good music and performance! I am so embarrased, I dare not say I am Malaysian now.
3. suppose to meet Chyeli tonight but her grandmother is very sick. I seriously hope her grandmother will recover very soon. By seeing what happen to her, reminds me of my grandma (mother's side). I miss her badly. Everytime when I go to Seremban, go in her room, saw her photo in my grandpa's room...I feel like crying. She likes to do everything on her own. She thinks that other people will spoil her things. I love spicy food because of her.
Since young, everytime I go back Seremban, grandma surely cook steam chicken, lady fingers, and her own chili. She very sayang my brother and me. My grandpa obviously only sayang my uncle's children because he's the only son =_=" As I grow bigger, everytime I go to Seremban before I sleep, my grandmother will chat with me. Gosh I feel like crying now, shall stop here =( I miss her!
I understand how sad is it to see your love one getting sick and even seeing him/her leaving you. Other than crying, you dont feel like doing anything else. Stay strong, Chyeli. Pray hard that your grandmother will be fine.
Okay so far there are only 3 sad things in this week. I hope it will be lesser haha!
The happy ones...
1. Our primi minister took KTM and Putra LRT yesterday!!!
KUALA LUMPUR: Setting aside protocol, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi took rides on the commuter and LRT rail services from Serdang to the city centre yesterday to get a feel of the transport problems faced by the public and came away less than satisfied.
Throughout the one-hour journey, during which he switched trains, the Prime Minister noted the congestion, especially during the peak period, and spoke to his fellow passengers to get feedback.
Speaking to Bernama after disembarking at the Masjid Jamek LRT station, he said he was not satisfied and wanted immediate improvements to be made.
He said the existing services were not systematic, there were not enough coaches and coverage was not comprehensive, leaving many areas not serviced.
“I just saw the plight of people using the trains to get to work every morning. They were jostling to get on board every time a train arrived. There appeared to be no system.
“I’m not happy with this because the people are not getting satisfaction from riding the trains. This we must fix,” he said.
“I found the trains really packed. Some had waited for three trains and yet could not board.
“There’s no queue. People push their way in, women with children and old people are pushed aside,” he added.
Abdullah, who was unaccompanied by officials from the two rail services, arrived at the Serdang Komuter KTM station at 8.15am but could not get on board the first train that arrived because it was packed.
He got on the next train that came 15 minutes later and headed for KL Sentral, the transport hub for the various rail services.
There he also had to wait a while to switch to the Putra LRT service to get to the Masjid Jamek station because, again, the first train to arrive was full.
On both the trains that he took, the prime minister, dressed in a red batik shirt with gold print, stood although passengers offered him their seats.
Upon arrival at the Masjid Jamek station at 9.15am, he chatted with members of the public and bought local cakes from the sellers there before leaving.
Abdullah said he would give attention to efforts to improve the quality of both rail services.
